Earle Mack School of Law Orientation 2013
Community Service Project

Each year during orientation, the Earle Mack School of Law provides an opportunity for students to participate in an afternoon of community service. This year we have partnered with three organizations:

  • Samuel Powel Elementary School -
Volunteers will help paint walls; assist teachers with classroom setup; hang bulletin boards; assist with paper shredding; and help with outdoor cleanup and gardening.

  • Philadelphia Reads Book Bank -
Volunteers will help sort and shelve new and gently used donated books.
The Book Bank has provided over a quarter of a million new and gently-used donated children's books since 2006. These books help strengthen the emerging literacy skills of Philadelphia's youngest students. Our goal is to help all students read at grade level by the end of 3rd grade.
  • Rizzo Police Athletic League Center -
Volunteers will help organize and fill book bags with school supplies.
The Philadelphia Police Athletic League is an independent non-profit corporation committed to "Cops Helping Kids". Philadelphia PAL, a registered 501(c)(3), is comprised of 26 centers across Philadelphia serving thousands of youngsters both male and female. Each center is supervised by Philadelphia Police Officers who are assigned full-time to direct activities and oversee the young people. Programs include sport, educational and cultural opportunities.

Registration is now closed.
